The book gives an insight into photographer Pascal Uehli diverse world of black and white photography and shows the multifaceted nature of women. Pride and strength are represented as well as fun and sensuality. It is not models that the photographer shows in the pictures, but people.

“In monochromatic photography, as a photographer, you are challenged in a different way than in color photography. The medium opens up differentiated possibilities for representation and interpretation.

The person in focus, I look for the perfect light to press the shutter button. In my world of monochromatics, my attention is directed not only to the person portrayed, but also to the nuances of brightness. These offer me the opportunity to skillfully set contrasts and live out my creativity. Light is an important ally in black and white photography.”
